Founded in 1988 by June Taylor-Dixon, the Northwest Dance Theatre is a non-profit, pre-professional company providing opportunities for emerging dancers to perform in professional productions. As an outgrowth of June Taylor's School of Dance, NWDT maintains rigorous and exacting performance standards in keeping with the high standards of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) curriculum.

In the last 20 years NWDT has produced over 50 performances and has provided performance opportunities for over 500 young and talented dancers.

NWDT alumni have gone on to dance with professional companies such as Houston Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theatre, and Miami City Ballet, and garnered international attention in the finals of the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance Genee competition.
