NWDT is a pre-professional dance company that has produced over 50 performances in the last 15 years, and in the process, has provided invaluable performing opportunities for over 500 young dancers in the Portland area. Our dancers have gone on to positions with Houston Ballet, Miami Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theatre and others, as well as pursuing dance teaching careers.
NWDT is dedicated to its dual mission of providing excellent dance productions at a reasonable price to members of our extended community, and providing dedicated, pre-professional dance students with first class performance opportunities.

| Dance Education Outreach Program |

NWDT’s outreach goal is to introduce dance to new audiences through education and awareness. Our mission is to share with grade school children our love and knowledge of dance through the understanding of dance as an art form and through the exploration of the many skills and discipline that this art form requires. Our teaching artists will highlight collaborating as an ensemble, choreographing, performing and creating with the student’s bodies and with their minds. Our desire is that after the students have experienced a classroom lesson in dance with our teaching artists that they will then view our dancers in performance so that they see to full fruition all the aspects of dance.
Our outreach program is offered to any educational institution free of charge as our community service project. Contact us about our outreach ballets and catering our program to your specific needs.

| Auditions |

Auditions are typically held each September for new dance company members. Company members have been selected for the 2008/2009 season. Information will be posted in August for next season’s audition schedule.
