Northwest Dance Theatre holds annual auditions each spring. We offer up to 26 contracts to dancers aged 12 and older at various company levels, including Corps de Ballet, Apprentice, and Trainee. Company members are required to attend a minimum of 4-5 ballet classes (based on level), one jazz class, and one conditioning class per week. In addition to their regular classes, dancers participate in weeknight and Saturday afternoon rehearsals. On average, a Corps de Ballet member spends approximately 18-20 hours per week in classes and rehearsals with NWDT.

Dancers have the opportunity to perform in several productions throughout the year, including A Nutcracker Tea (with 7 performances), our Spring Show (2-3 performances), and various community Outreach programs. By joining NWDT, dancers gain valuable experience in professional productions, collaborate with renowned guest choreographers, and prepare for auditions—skills that serve them both in dance and beyond. Through our outreach programs, dancers also have the chance to give back to the community.

Northwest Dance Theatre is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, entirely run by the parents of Company members.

NWDT has helped me build the strength and sense of commitment I need to dance in college and pursue a career. NWDT has been a pivotal part of my dance training, and I don't think I'd be where I am today without it.

My work with NWDT not only pushed me to be a better dancer, but also helped me in academic studies. I learned how to  manage my time efficiently and stay calm  even under stress.
